BJP has given ticket to Dr. Rekhaben Chaudhary, granddaughter of the founder of Banasderi. On the other hand, the Congress has given the ticket to Ganiben Thakor, a sitting MLA and a member of the Thakor community. 

Talking about the Congress candidate Ganiben Thakor, he is currently an MLA. Also they come from Thakor community. The highest number of 4.5 lakh voters in Banaskantha seat belong to the Thakor Kshatriya community.

 Thakor community has also been the most dominant in this seat. The Congress had given an MLA ticket to Ganiben in 2017 from the Vav seat. At this time, Ganeben defeated Shankar Chaudhary, a minister of the state government and veteran leader.
