Free food grains are given to the poor by the Government of India. This grain is given to people who have ration cards. But many people can't get free food grains despite having ration card because they don't have KYC done in ration card.
KYC is an important process in ration card. Through KYC, the government knows that the right person is availing the benefit in the ration card. Apart from this, the One Ration One Nation scheme requires all ration card holders to be implemented.

If KYC is not done in your ration card then the food grains you get from cheap price shop will be stopped. Food department has made kyc mandatory in all ration cards.
